An Autumn 🍂 Compass 🧭 Prayer🙏
"During the Middle Ages Christian people were encouraged to undertake a pilgrimage. Some went to the Holy Land or Rome. Others went to shrines situated in the British Isles. Many thousands made their way to Santiago de Compostella in Northern Spain, by tradition the burial site of St. James. Early pilgrims picked up scallop shells from the beach and these quickly became a symbol of Christian pilgrimage.
Please select a scallop shell from the basket and take it with you as a reminder of your visit to St. Mary's, here in Bridport.
Our prayer for you is that Jesus is your companion as you journey home."
